Who do you help?
I work with people of all ages and all abilities to foster speech and language development, social communication skills and executive function abilities using a positive approach. As the founder of Communiverse®, I have built this practice on the belief that strong relationships begin with strong communication. I partner with families and professionals to help individuals develop not only the words they need, but also the confidence and perspective-taking skills that allow them to connect with others in the most effective and efficient manner.
How do you work?
My work is grounded in compassion, curiosity and the belief that everyone deserves to feel understood and heard. I notice the clients’ strengths and build upon those strengths to help them with their challenges.I believe that communication is far more than words; It is actually the bridge that connects people to one another. I am known for my strengths-based, family-centered and functional approach that empowers individuals to better understand themselves in order to connect with others. I enjoy a team approach in order to support communication, social learning and executive functioning in a variety of social contexts.
A little about you
I am passionate about my work and am a highly compassionate person. My love of words along with my love of people has evolved into bringing me into this field, beginning this practice and enjoying learning about my clients, and their families’ needs. I truly enjoy helping families problem-solve in order to help everyone achieve their communication goals. I am hoping that each client that chooses Communiverse® will leave us feeling confident and empowered to connect with others in whatever way they want to connect.
Fun Fact
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband of over 40 years and our 3 grown sons, their partners and our grandchildren, and, our 2 dogs. I enjoy my alone time as well when I am running, exercising or picking up a good book.
Is there anything else you'd like families to know about you or your approach?
It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
