Who do you help?
During my career, I have worked with people across the lifespan in many settings, including private practice, hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, early intervention and schools. I am especially interested in social communication, executive functioning, and educating myself and others on neurodiversity. Every session, my clients teach me something new. It is fascinating to learn how others think about the world. By understanding and celebrating our similarities and differences, we can improve our world.
How do you work?
I am committed to providing high quality, client-centered therapy to each of my clients and their families, with a focus on neurodiversity-affirming goals. Building rapport with each client and facilitating a caring, supportive therapeutic relationship are essential to my approach. During our sessions, I meet the client where they are and provide support to help them grow their skills. Therapy is a team effort and the client is the most important part of the team! Collaboration between my client, their family, their communication partners, other team members, and myself is vital for supporting the person. Getting to know my clients, their interests, their experiences, and their aspirations is imperative to my being able to support them in reaching their personal goals. It is a privilege to support and celebrate my clients’ successes.
A little about you
I love the having the opportunity to learn new things, be creative, collaborate with others and to get to know different people and their way of thinking. Every day is different! I believe that my career experience has made me a better parent, partner, friend and overall human. I am blessed to love my job and the people with whom I work. I look forward to speaking with others to learn about their lives and journeys.
Fun Fact
Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and daughters; we love to travel, go to musicals, and watch sporting events. You can find us in the fall and spring on the sidelines cheering on our daughters who play division 1 lacrosse at Fairleigh Dickenson University.
